Pros: The flash is awesome bright. Color and exposure perfect. Battery life good (NiMH).
Cons: A bit slow on flash recharge.
The Bottom Line: Only speaking of my experience over two years - buy it. I have had zero problems, 99 percent of my shots are excellent, 1 percent my fault.

| craig1947's Full Review: Olympus Camedia D-520 Zoom Digital Camera |
A perfect camera for someone who doesn't need 8x10 prints. I use it for web shots, and a lot of 4x6 printing. It has typical Olympus flawless exposure and color. It is small enough to put in a (large) shirt pocket. It has a great sliding cover/switch that protects the lens. The LCD is bright and clear and can be adjusted for contrast. Enough bells and whistles to be one of the better point-and-shoot cameras in this pixel range. I do a lot of photography, and cannot see the need for this pixel war. If I used a 5 megapixel camera, I would set the setting back to 1400 x 1600 or so so it had a reasonable file size of about a half meg. Most people need no more than 2 megapixels, thus saving memory card size and disk space. Really - how many poster size photos do you print? Many complain about the slow rate of flash recharge, thus slowing shooting speed. Keeping the camera small required cutting back to only two AA batteries. Use high capacity NiMH and it helps, but that is the tradeoff. I shut the flash off for outside shots and the camera fires pictures off one right after the other without delay. Inside - be patient.
