Having owned this camera for around 2 months now, here are what I have to say about this:
Pros:
1. Cost - at under $1500 I get a 5 megapixel AF Digital SLR with a fast F2.0-2.4 lens. Even with the recently released Canon 10D, the cost will be over $2000 if you buy it with a zoom lens as fast as the E-20.
2. Feel - The body is easy to hold and have enough heft to be stable, yet not to heavy (compared to other DSLR) to be too tiring.
3. Layout - Controls are all within reach, needing only one hand operations on most used functions.
4. Picture quality - I usually print 8 x 10 prints and many have a hard time believing that pictures were taken with a digital camera.
5. Through the lens viewfinder - Other cameras in it's class use an electronic view finder (small lcd).
Cons, not really cons but more of the camera would have been better if it had:
1. Higher ISO and Lower ISO - The lower ISO would solve the lack of a higher shutter speed of 1/640.
2. Focusing screen - To make manual focus easier even in low light.
3. Viewfinder needs an eyepiece - but there are people selling these eyepieces at ebay.
Must have options:
Olympus FL-40 flash, because it is a dedicated TTl flash, exposure are almost always perfect. No need for guesswork.
Li-Po battery pack and vertical grip - with the Li-Po (lithium Polymer) battery I can do over 1,000 shots on 1 charge. Plus the vertical grip makes the camera easier to shoot vertical portraits, which 80% of my shots are.
Feel free to check out my online gallery for various shots with the E-20. http://www.photos.ph/kengo
