Pros: So many different options, wonderful zoom, crystal clear. Fast focusing, beeps in response.
Cons: Won't "fire at will" in bad situations, flash doesn't automatically pop up.
The Bottom Line: This camera has so many options and the best part is a beginner doesn't need to use them. You can literally point, zoom, and shoot with this camera.
For photography, even advanced, this camera is for you. I only bought it because a friend told me they found one on clearance and I happened to need a camera at the time since my other one broke. I almost fainted when I saw this one and the price. I have an old Canon AE-1 and this new Olympus is much better. It does everything the old manual cameras do, but has a bit of automation as well.
You can play with certain settings while leaving the rest up to the camera, or you can take complete control. You can keep the shutter open for a minute, or 1/2000 of a second. The flash is very bright and for focusing, it automatically strobes in a dark area so that it can lock the focus. This camera is amazing from all the built in features and for the options it has. Definitely go for it if you find a good price. I only paid $66 at Target as it was sold as-is without a box. It takes the clearest pictures I've ever seen. The only problem is that if it thinks a picture will turn out bad, it won't let you take it anyway. Sometimes it can't focus on something, so no picture for you. Or it will be over or underexposed, well, your are out of luck.
