Pros:easy to cook, delicious, inexpensive
The Bottom Line: With any Omaha Steaks purchase they are only $9.99 so I would definitely give them a whirl.
Potatoes should always accompany steaks. Thank goodness, Omaha Steaks sells Potatoes Au Gratin to please my vegetarian sister and be my steaks partner on my plate.

All Omaha Steaks products are frozen and in cardboard boxes. Ten Potatoes Au Gratin come in a plastic resealable bag. They look like little lightly browned balls. They are a little smaller then the size of a closed fist. They come with any purchase for $9.99.
Do not thaw the Potatoes Au Gratin. You have two options of cooking:
If you decide to Bake: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Place desired number of servings on a foil lined or nonstick baking sheet. Heat for 25-30 minutes.
If you decide to Microwave: Place portions on microwave safe dish. Microwave on HIGH power for approximately 2-3 minutes. Serve 1-2 portions per person.
I have used the microwave and baking method.
I think that the baking method takes way too much time and the microwave method takes just as good as the baking method.

Firstly, use the microwave method. They only take a few minutes and taste the same as the baking method. These are really simple to prepare. Put them on a microwave safe dish and heat for 2-3 minutes. You really cant get an easier side dish then that.
The Potatoes Au Gratin are round in shape and have a lightly breaded mashed potato crust. As soon as you dip your fork in, you can see the shredded mashed potatoes. For someone who has not had or heard of potatoes au gratin before, it is a mashed potato ball. They shredded mashed potatoes taste like they are homemade. They are soft, creamy, and the perfect combination of crust and creamy potatoes.
The Potatoes Au Gratin takes a lot of hard work out of making mashed potatoes. It also can accompany any dish you make, especially steak and vegetables. Also, they are very filling for a quick snack to hold you over until your next meal. I have heard about people sprinkling grated cheese on the potato balls for more flavor. (I dont need the extra calories.)
For 120 calories a potato ball, and no cholesterol and only 4.5 grams of fat this is something that you can eat frequently without any horrible effects.
If you like mashed potatoes, and dont feel like dealing with the stress of cooking them (take a night off!), I would highly recommend the Potatoes Au Gratin to accompany your next meal.
