Pros:Quiet, no sharp blades, fast and easy clean-up, small size, handles wheat grass, reasonable price.

Cons:That I waited as long as I did to finally get one.

The Bottom Line: I would definitely buy this machine again!

I changed to an almost completely raw diet in February of 2012, and had already been making green drinks with my blender.  However, I really wanted to try making wheat grass juice, since I had read so much about them on various websites.  So, when my blender died from being used nearly every day, I just had to get something to replace it.  I did tons of research, trying to find a juicer that would do wheat grass, regular greens, and soft fruit.  I found it all with the Omega 8004.  All the other juicers only seemed to do soft fruit OR wheat grass, but not both.

The Omega juicer was very simple to put together, and the directions are easy to follow.  When you first get started, it's best to  use a dense leafy green stalk, so it fills the outlet where the pulp exits.  After that, the juices start flowing into one bin, leaving nearly completely dry pulp in the other bin.

I use the juicer for green drinks (collard greens, carrot greens, carrots, wheat grass), and I love experimenting with different combinations of fruits/veggies and greens.  I am thrilled that I found stinging nettle growing wild in my garden, and now juice that too.  This machine munches through carrots like a starving rabbit.  I haven't found anything it won't chew up and spit out.  And everything that comes out of the machine is cool to the touch, so I know it's not killing any of the beneficial enzymes.  It chops fairly slowly, but efficiently, on whatever you put in.  Yet, it only takes a few minutes to whip up a green drink.

There is a separate attachment for items you don't want to screen juice out of, like ice cream or nut butters.  My daughter uses it for making ice cream (creamed bananas and fruit).  It also comes with attachments for making pasta, but I haven't tried them out yet.  I do pick the juicer up slightly and tilt it backwards and forwards a couple times when I'm done juicing, so that the remaining juice flows out of the bottom.  The juicer comes with a large toothbrush for cleaning the screen and a plunger for pushing food down into the chute.  Cleaning up only takes a couple of minutes, mostly just rinsing off the parts.

By the way, the chute is a pretty decent size and will easily accommodate a very large carrot or a rolled-up collard leaf.  My kids  and husband love when I make "snow cones" with frozen watermelon or mixed fruit chunks on hot summer days.  I look foward to making fresh carrot soup this winter, too.  The machine does have a reverse switch too, in case you put something in that gets clogged (which I haven't had happen yet).

The juicer is very simple to use.  Since I use it almost every day, it was important to me that it was easy and quick to clean.  It certainly meets those requirements.  I bought a white one, which takes up minimal room on my countertop.  It doesn't look like your typical appliance, so it is sure to be a conversation starter for people who visit you (a great chance to extol the benefits of juicing to them).  The motor is much quieter than my blender, too.   Another great thing is that it comes with a 15-year warranty.  I thought the price was a little high at first, but I think it's well worth the money after seeing all the things it can do.

I really love my juicer, and am happy that it can deal with a wide array of produce.  If you are looking for a juicer, look no further - this is the one to get!
