Before I begin my review there is some important background information to understand. Several months ago I was in search of a solid multivitamin. Doing some research, I found my belief that One A Day was a reputable brand to be proved true. The next day I went to the store and picked out some One A Day "Mens Health" vitamins. The pills were to big for me to comfortable swallow (I'm not exactly small either at six feet tall). For a couple weeks I forgot about the whole multivitamin thing. Then one day I was in the store and saw a box of One A Day "Maximum" sitting there. "Ohhh, Maximum" I thought "this has to be really good for me". I get home, hit the weights, down the protein powder, open up the Maximums and *gulp*. They're bigger than Mens. Taking Mens or Maximums is not intended for the small of throat. So, my search for a Multivitamin had to continue.

After my previous two experiences I picked up a bottle of "Essential" from One A Day. These small easily swallowed vitamin tablets pack in almost everything you need. They're supposed to be taken with meals. A few times I have neglected this aspect, each time with different results. Once, I felt mild stomach discomfort, nothing that would interfere with daily activities. The other time was a more severe discomfort that had the definite possibility of interfering with my schedule. In neither case did the discomfort last more than an hour (it usually persisted much less than that ~20 minutes). when I have followed the directions and taken them as indicated on the bottle I have never had any noticeable stomach discomfort or irritation.
I continue to take One A Day "Essential" today.
