I was skeptical about the TX-SR304 since I only paid $99 on sale at Fry's. Right now it serves as my front room receiver to provide two channel stereo to two Polk Lsi-7 speakers. A Carver D12 sub woofer supplements the bass.

It sounds fantastic. Especially considering the price. I own Yamaha, and multiple Kenwood receivers. The sound quality of this receiver is as good as the best of them. The amplification is rated fairly low but wont effect most users if the speakers are efficient or if used in a small room.
I dont listen to AM radio. I do have a roof top antenna attached to the antenna input. The FM tuner sounds very decent compared to my other receivers.
The area that really shines is in its quality surround processing. It has modern surround (5.1 only) processing that includes Pro-Logic II for your Dolby 2.0 surround tracks. I even considered putting it in my main home theater to replace a high end ten year old receiver. Unfortunately, the three digital inputs and three component inputs will provide switching for only three progressive components. For example: a DVD player, Xbox, and HD tuner. I have other items that need digital input like my LD player, ps2, and computer.
For an inexpensive component switching receiver, this is a real winner at $99.
