Pros:Made in USA, gentle, helps relieve pain, kills bacteria
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended because it works great and greatly relieved my mouth pain.
Have you ever had a sore in your mouth that hurt so bad that it made it difficult to chew? A while back, I had a sore on my gums that made it very painful to chew. While we were at my parent's house for dinner, my mom suggested that I try Orajel Antiseptic Mouth Sore Rinse.

She had gotten a bottle of it free with a rebate, so she gave it to me to use and I was amazed with the results. Not only didn't it burn my mouth like other mouthwashes, but it actually helped to sooth the pain from the sores.
The active ingredient is Hydrogen Peroxide (1.5 %) so it does a great job of killing the bacteria and cleansing your mouth. It has the foaming action of peroxide, but unlike plain peroxide, it has a pleasant taste and leaves your mouth feeling fresh and clean.
The other ingredients include Edetate Disodium, Ethyl Alcohol (4%), FD&C Blue 1, Methyl Salicylate, Methylparaben, Phosphoric Acid, Poloxamer 338, Water (Purifed), Sodium Saccharin, and Sorbitol.
The 16 ounce bottle of Orajel Antiseptic Mouth Sore Rinse sells for $7.99 at our local Rite Aid although, as I said earlier my mom got it free with a rebate. I wish I would have seen the rebate because I would have loved to have gotten a free bottle of this too. Even so, it was well worth the price considering the relief it provided.
Orajel Antiseptic Mouth Sore Rinse helps to heal mouth sores by killing bacteria in the mouth. It is intended for canker sores, gum irritation, cheek bites, denture irritation and other irritations of the mouth and gums. I know that it really helped with the sore that I had on my gums. It also helps with the removal of phlegm, mucus, other secretions associated with occasional sore mouths.
Orajel Antiseptic Mouth Sore Rinse is to be used by adults and children at least 2 years old. According to the directions, you should rinse with one half capful, 2 teaspoons for at least 1 minute and then spit out. I would suggest that you might want to try using a bit less, at least the first time you try it until you see how much it foams up, especially for kids. Otherwise you might find that once it starts foaming that you have a hard time keeping it in your mouth for the full minute.
You can use it up to four times per day, after meals and at bedtime or as directed by a doctor or dentist. Kids under 12 should be supervised. Kids under 2 should only use this under the advise of a doctor or dentist. Don't use it for more than 7 days unless your doctor or dentist tells you to, and be sure to discontinue use and let your doctor or dentist know if your condition doesn't improve or if it worsens.
Orajel Antiseptic Mouth Sore Rinse is safety sealed to prevent accidental ingestion by children. To remove the safety cap, squeeze the smooth sides while turning. Be sure to reclose tightly. Get medical help and contact a poison control center if swallowed.
