Pros: it WILL make you fell better temporarily, cheap, over the counter cure

Cons: not a permanent solution, numbness may feel strange

The Bottom Line: Use it for temporary relief. It's the best you will find in over the counter cures.

Orajel is excellent for quick relief of minor tooth pain. It is definitely not a permanent solution. Unlike taking pain killers for tooth pain, this product is more focused, diret and effective. Tylenol, Aleve won't work as well to help your tooth feel better. Orajel does actually work- by numbing the area and reducing the pain significantly.

I used the product when I had wisdom teeth growing and I was in excruciating pain. Within minutes, I felt better. The only problem was that I had to keep reapplying the product to continue its effects. But this is worth it. Once you develop tooth pain, it's a very minor inconvenience to have to reapply the gel to get the healing. As long as it works!
