| MDragon53's Full Review: Orajel Toothache Maximum Strength |
They're not kidding when they say MAXIMUM STRENGTH. This stuff comes is a very small plastic tube, and smells very strong of mint. I have an impacted wisdom tooth and the swollen gums to boot, so I went directly to the strongest stuff in the store and didn't even look at the price tag (Which wasn't really that bad. $5.95).
By the time I got home, I tore through the bag and whipped my miracle potion out before I hurt enough to punch a hole in the wall. I dabbed just a drop of this stuff on my finger, took a deep breath, and rubbed it on my gums and on the sore tooth. I'll tell you, at first it hurts like crazy to be rubbing your sore gums, but within about 45 seconds, it started numbing.
Just a little inside tip, try not to salivate too much, or you're going to spread this stuff through out your mouth, and you really don't want to do that. After about a minute, my gums were completely numb... Along with half of my face!
In the end, I really can't complain. This stuff is like a shot of Novocain, and took care of the pain for about half an hour. The only trouble is, the recommended daily dosage is only 4, so that gets me by for about 2 hours. No matter, I never pay attention to that stuff anyway.
Insider tip: This stuff could also be good for you pranksters out there. Take those breath drops, empty half the container and refill it with this stuff, then pass along to friends. Now you get to watch everyone drool and talk funny.
Disclaimer: Please don't take the above statement seriously. It was just meant as a funny comment, and could actually hurt someone. Keep in mind, the recommended daily dosage is 4, so I imagine 50 doses in one sitting could probably do some damage. Be smart, just laugh at the funny joke, but don't do it.
Back on the subject, this stuff isn't half bad. It does its job really well, its cheap, and only takes a very small amount to be effective. My only beef is the fact that it only lasts about 15 minutes to half an hour, and unless you can control your drool well, you don't want to use this stuff before you eat (You wouldn't be able to taste your food!). I give it 4 stars.
