Pros: Pleasant orange smell, 100% natural. A little goes along way.
Cons: Face feels dirtier after use. Makes my skin feel heavy and oily.
The Bottom Line: If you have oily skin like me, then I would suggest avoiding this product. Orange Essence makes me feel like I've been sitting in the hot sun all day.

I would consider applying Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser on my toast in the morning. That might actually be tasty, and before my breakfast decomposed into soggy bread pudding due to this product, I would scrub my face with the toast for maximum exfoliation.
Dear Burt I like your beard, I like your bees, but please stop including samples of Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser in so many of your kits. I have a small army of Orange Essence packets and not enough Garden Tomato toner to warrant ever opening another one up.
This is not your best product and not really one that makes you shine.
It makes me shine yes, but that is not what I am looking for in a facial cleanser.
Pull back the peal and Ahhh
Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser smells exactly like biting into a perfect naval orange. Now being way up north means we don't get very much fresh or good quality fruit. Most of it is dried out, pulpy and tasteless, but every once in a while a good piece of fruit slips through the cracks and makes it into my grubby little hands.
It is a welcomed respite from caribou fat and rotten bananas.
Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser taunts my taste buds. I can count every good experience I have had with a orange on both hands, and the smell of Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser is like having each Orange's ghost come up and haunt my olfactory organs.
I suspect now whenever I eat a orange I will think of Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser.
There is nothing as wonderful as peeling a citrus fruit and smelling facial cleanser.
Orange Begorange
The day I decide Empress Marmalade is good for my face is the day I go and buy Empress Marmalade and save 10 bucks on facial cleansers. Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser looks like I should be spooning it out of a jar and onto my face. It is thick, it is sticky and it goes best with lightly toasted flax bread.
This facial cleanser resembles light orange jelly, on your finger tips it feels like margarine.
A tube of this cleanser goes for 16.00 Canadian, yikes.
Bob Villa resurfaces your Skin
I was having a good skin day, my face hadn't produced a tanker full of oil and the morning was fresh and all was good. About noon I started dabbling with my cosmetics and decided to try out Burt's Bees Powdered Facial Tissues. Horrified that a lot of oil had absorbed into the rice tissues, I decided that I needed to wash my face.
It was my try something new day, so I figured why not with another Burt's Bees product?
So I grabbed Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser and followed the directions and massaged the creme into my face and attempted to keep it away from the eye area.
They really mean keep it out of the eye area! A smallish amount got near the corner of my right eye and it burned baby. Six hours later the skin around my eye was still feeling sensitive. Burt's bees hurt righties feelings badly.
I made sure never to get Orange Essence near my eye again.
I washed away as much as possible but I am sure that Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser is better suited to waterproofing decks than cleaning skin. This cleanser seems to dilute slightly in water but it did not feel like it was coming off completely.
I usually wake up and my face feels oily and I don't need any help making it worse. If I wanted to feel like bacon in the frying pan, I would go out and sit in the sun and let my heritage do its magic.
Dabbing Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner seemed to help cut the grease, but my skin still feels heavy and now I have my shine back too.
I was forced to discontinue use after four days, as something seemed to have aggravated my acne. Before use my skin was relatively blemish free, now I have a few large and inflamed pimples on my face.
Beefore and After
Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser is another Burt's Bees product that disagrees with my oily skin. On the back it says Orange Essence moisturizes and conditions the skin, perhaps it does. But it certainly doesn't make my skin feel clean; I've had much better success with other facial cleansers. I guess oily skinned individuals don't really need any help in the moisturizing department.
It would be helpful if Burt's Bees labeled Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser with the skin types it is best suited for, like they do on the Garden Tomato toner bottle.
To be fair over the four day period of use, it did get easier to apply Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser.I found that the warmer the water you use the better this product seemed to work. It made my skin soft but also provided a waxy shine and heavy feeling, which I cannot stand. I gave the rest of my Orange Essence collection to my mother. (dry skin) Surprise, surprise it left her face looking pink and lively.
100% natural concept awesome, appearance unique, smell wonderful. Results? Nothing special. Went back to using Velocity.
Ingredients: Vegetable glycerin, olive oil, orange oil, oat protein, water, lanolin, aloe barbadensis gel, vegetable oil & beta carotene tocopherol (vitamin E), rosemary extract.
