jiastar's Full Review: Organix Vanilla Silk Blow Dry Cream 6 oz
As I did my food shopping the other day I found myself in the beauty aisles on the hunt for acne medicine and a home highlights kit for my teenage daughter. In my travels I came across a number of hair care items that were drastically slashed in price. I found Organix Vanilla Silk Blow Dry Cream marked down to a mere $2.04 and immediately reached for it.
I opened the bottle right there and sniffed, fully expecting to be disappointed in the promise of Tahitian vanilla. I anticipated wrinkling my nose in disgust and placing it back on the shelf. Instead what I found was a true rich warm deep vanilla smell that made me want to lather my entire body in it.
Needless to say Organix Vanilla Silk Blow Dry Cream found its way into my cart and onto my bathroom counter.
Use:
Most mornings my hair styling consists of wash, condition, and blow dry. I tend to use leave in conditioners perhaps weekly and styling products perhaps monthly. However, because my hair is naturally fine and thin and because I color it is prone to static and flyaways. I was drawn to this product because I hoped that it might resolve these issues and because it promised to protect my hair from the damage caused by blow-drying.
It was as easy as towel drying my hair, rubbing a couple of pumps, and styling as usual. It seemed to add a minute or two to the length of time it takes to completely blow dry my hair but as my hair is nearing my waist this didn't surprise me.
Result:
My hair came out glossy and shiny. It is soft and silky to the touch. It looked for all the world like I had taken the time to actually style instead of just blow-drying ... every strand in place.
Additionally, Organix Vanilla Silk Blow Dry Cream seems to have actually slightly thickened each individual strand of hair allowing my hair to have enough heft to combat both static and fly-away tendencies.
And that delicious vanilla scent? When I was done styling I am pleased to say that this product left behind just a hint of vanilla.
The lingering aroma is just enough to be perceived if you (or someone you love) bury your nose in your hair. It should not clash with any other scents you may wear in the course of your day.
Additionally when I went to work today I was asked if I had gotten a haircut as my hair looked so much different to my coworkers. Talk about results!!
Worth it?
There is no doubt in my mind that this product achieves its promises and managed to exceed my own expectations. I am not vain about my appearance, but my husband likes me to keep my hair long and that does take some special treatment.
If I could always buy Organix Vanilla Silk Blow Dry Cream for only #2 I would use it every day. But, even if I had to purchase it at full price, this is a product I can see myself using regularly because of the way my hair looked this morning when I was done blow drying.
