Pros: Only if you like clumpy lashes and torture yourself through bad beauty products.
Cons: Price. Product does not meet Origin's claims of greatness.
The Bottom Line: Avoid this product. Save your money. $13.00 can buy something much better than this awful product.

| LauraSunflower's Full Review: Origins Full Story Mascara |
You'll know my story like your own because I'm sure you've been there.
I received a postcard in the mail urging me to come to the local Origins counter at my Marshall Field's. The card was pimping Origins Full Story: Lush-lash mascara. By hearing the whole explanation of this product I was invited to receive a deluxe-size sample of Rain and Shine lipcolor in Pink Moon. I've done the deed before, show up at the counter see them promo the new product and walk away with my freebie. I was feeling a little bad, I had a pirate's booty of deluxe samples and hadn't purchased anything in a while. The Origins saleslady really gave Full Story a glowing review (I didn't expect anything else). So I bought the product they were featuring - Origins Full Story. Bad idea.
Full Story comes in .27 fl. oz. aqua colored tube. It is about 5 inches long with no real decorative features except for white writing on the tube. The wand applicator is a screw off top with a straight wand (curved wands are not available). The color of the product is Black (shade 01). The product also comes in Brown. This product sells for $13.00.
Origins.com states Full Story is: "Origins unique wax-free, gel-based formula allows you to build lashes without clumping, spiking or looking spider-leg like. A super-gentle pH, almost identical to your own tears, ensures even sensitive eyes feel comfortable and cared for. Kaolin plumps and thickens. And special Polymers give lush length to once-little lashes. Safe for contact lens wearers."
The ingredients from product box: aqueous infusions, rose damascena (rose), anthemis nobillis (chamomile), isododecene, ethylenediamine/stearyl dimer tallate copolymer, kaolin, ammonium stearate, stearamide mea-steareate, polysorbate 20, polyurethene, silica, sorbitan tristerate, pvp, panthenol, tocopheryl, glycerin, tocopherol, butylene glycol, diglycol/sipcoplymer, strearic acid, acacia senegal gum, magnesium aluminum silicate, gylceral, citric acid, disodium edtra, benyl alcohol, potassium sorbate, sorbic acid, chlorphesien, phenoxythanal, methyparaben, etyhlparaben, propylparaben, butylparben, isobuytlparaben, MAY CONTAIN: mica, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, ferric ferrocyanide, ultramarines, blue lake I, bismuth oxychloride, chromium hydroxide green, oxide greens, yellow 5 lake.
The biggies in the ingredients for potential problems for sensitive eyes are: Kaolin, glycerin, chamomile, rose extract, and other related additives.
For me, this mascara clumped from day one. The wand is so heavy with the product that it makes it difficult to achieve a clean application. After scraping the applicator wand bristles against the mouth of the tube as I pulled it out, I hoped this would make the product less clumpy. Even out of sheer frustration I have tried wiping the mascara wand with a clean tissue (remember - don't swap/share used mascara - bacteria breeds!) to lessen the amount of product that adheres to the wand. No such luck! Due to the fact so much of the product sticks to the wand, it is difficult to apply the mascara close to the base of the lashes for a fuller application. No my friends, clumps don't count in fullness of lashes!
This product clumped on all parts of my lashes and would make more than one application down right difficult. You cannot easily sweep this product on. The clumps of this product actually blocked my clear vision. Throughout the day when wearing it I had to carefully scrap with a clean tissue clumps that got in the way of me seeing clearly.
*Yes!* This is not an advertised product feature but it happened with every wear of this blessed product.
Little clumps actually fell into my eyes, making them sting and water. Lack of complete vision and watering eyes adds to the appeal of clumpy lashes no doubt.
This never happens with most other department store mascaras I regularly use, including: Lancome Definicils, Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara, and Estee Lauder More Than Mascara.
I didn't even attempt to add eye liner or shadow when I was wearing this mascara. I looked like a Midwestern-librarian version of Tammy Faye Baker. Seriously. Nothing wrong with her personal look but that isn't me. Each glance in the mirror I was instantly drawn into looking at my comical-like eyelashes. It looked cheap and trashy. The dominance was not long, lush full lashes but clumpy-dumpy fringes that flaked and stung my eyes.
Removal was just terrible. I use many all purpose removers to wipe product off before cleansing nightly. This product would just not budge. It smeared into freakish streaks along my eyes and into the small but fine lines around my eyes. I tended to look like a Goth-girl each night as I tried to remove the product without too much tugging and pulling at the sensitive eye area. I think the Goth look is good on those who are aiming for the full look and know what they are doing, but for me, that was not my intent. I scared myself in the mirror on more than one occasion. May anyone who looked me straight in the peepers forgive me for this mascara. It looked terrible. Not Lush. Not pretty.
It also stung like you would not believe to remove this product. I tiered all the magic removers in my repertoire hoping for some cosmic combination to remove all traces. My eyes have never been sensitive to any product and I do not wear contacts. Heaven help the contact lens wearer who attempts to wear this. May their eyes not sting like an open wound!
I gave this product a two-week plus trial. I used it religiously day by day altering how I applied it thinking my crafty application methods would improve my experience with Full Story. No luck. I actually a couple of mornings dreaded putting on mascara - what kind of existence did I slip into?!
This one is going back to Origins. That is the thing about Origins, I've never had a problem returning anything, so I'm hoping the experience will be the same.
Maybe it's the gel-formula that makes it so hard to wear? I can't say for sure. The claims of sensitive formula almost made me cry in thinking about what a difficult product this is.
There is a reason these things called beauty products and this one shouldn't be lumped in with the rest. There are better department store alternatives and definitely better products in the Origins line as a whole.
Rest easy Tammy Faye and Goth Girls everywhere...I will no longer try to slip into the 'poser' mode with this mascara. I've put it to rest back in it's Origins khaki box.
Thanks for reading.
