Origins Swept Away - Luxury I can't live without!

Pros: Wow! Heavenly scent, makes skin smooth and soft, non-irritating/abrasive exfoliant.
Cons: A bit more pricey (but so worth it!)
The Bottom Line: Absolutely - you've got to try this stuff! Heavenly scent, smooth texture . . . leaves your skin soft, exfoliated without abrasion, and you will simply glow!

INTRODUCTION
For Christmas of 2003 I received 4 Origins products:
1. Origins Swept Away Gentle slougher for all skins
2. Origins Drink Up 10 minute mask
3. Origins Balanced Diet Lightweight moisture lotion
4. Origins Eye Doctor Moisture care for eyes
My favorite by FAR is the first listed, and the subject of this review. You will notice that I am only now reviewing these products, as I feel it is only fair to give products for the skin at least a two month trial period . . . but it was hard to wait that long for this product!
ABOUT MY SKIN . . . AND YOUR SKIN, TOO!
But first of all, this isn't all that important because ANY skin-type can use this product. I do happen to have combination skin with breakouts and blackheads and I have dryer areas as well. I noticed that Origins actually has a similar product labeled specifically for oily skin types, but this product worked great for my blemish-prone skin without drying it.
My skin is very fair, and is irritated easily. This product is so soothing even the most sensitive skin type should have no problem with it. But of course skincare is all about trial and error, and I can't make you any guarantees. :) I would caution you if you are sensitive to peppermint oil - this does contain peppermint and can be irritating to some skin types.
WHAT'S IN THIS STUFF?
Melilot and nettle infusions, methyl gluceth-10, jojoba wax, sorbitol, tea-carbomer, florida grapefruit and peppermint pays essential oils, aloe vera, bisabolol, apple and yarrow extracts, oat flour, tocopheryl acetate, panthenol, peg-75, butylene glycol, disodium edta, phenoxyethanol, methyl, ethyl, propyl and butylparaben, chromium hydroxide green
PRICE
This is not an item that I could have afforded. For 3.4 fl. ounces my poor parents paid $25.00, but on the actual Origins website, it is listed for only $17.50! So be careful little shoppers, how you shop.
I have been using this product very sparingly to make it last as long as possible. I would love to use it daily! But alas, I can't bear to see it disappear. If your budget is one that supports the purchasing of luxury items to treat yourself, you simply must try this.
SCENT
The scent is heavenly - like a light pink grapefruit (Florida grapefruit according to the ingredient list!), and a mix of peppermint.
TEXTURE
The texture is a lightweight, mint-greenish gel with tiny jojoba beads. This is an exfoliant that will not damage your skin by making microscopic cuts. Yes, cuts! I won't mention any brand names, but some cheap Apricot Kernel facial scrubs are composed of ground up wooden-texture pits that are not spherical and cut your skin - even if you can't see it, your poor skin feels it.
The exfoliating spheres in Origin's Swept Away are jojoba beads and the packaging states they are even "cushioned in Oats"!
HOW TO USE
Based on the instructions, you should use at least once weekly, and use on MOIST SKIN. So splash your face with a little tepid water, then put about a dime's worth of product in the palm of your hand, and using circular motions, swirl stuff around your face (especially for oily types - your forehead, chin, and nose) and INHALE the great scent. I swear, it lifts my spirits so much I have been known to just pop open the bottle and just smell the stuff! Be sure to rinse off with lukewarm water (cold or hot water just isn't good for your skin, as you may know).
Conclusion
I was completely impressed with this product, have used it for two months with no negative reactions allergy-wise or other, and indeed it DOES make a difference in how my skin feels and looks.
