| melissasrn's Full Review: Origins Transforming Lip Glaze |
I love shopping online and try to avoid the malls when I can. Of course I especially love to purchase Beauty care products online, so places like gloss.com no doubt LOVE people like me who browse the site with credit card in hand. There are many Origins products that I tend to repurchase over and over as well as other items from brands like Clinique or Estee Lauder. So not long ago, I received a full sized tube of this Origins Transforming Lip Glaze as a free promotional sample just for buying another Origins product online. Since I'm not one to wear lipstick or gloss every day, it took awhile before I finally gave this small tube of colorless lip wear a try. Read on to find out more about my experience and if I'd actually pay full price for another.
~~~The Lip Glaze~~~
This Origins Transforming Lip Glaze is a fun yet trendy way to take your lip color over the top. According to product advertising: It's a gloss you've gotta have. Works in chameleon-like ways to add fullness and shine to your favorite lip look. Top your favorite look with this gotta-have gloss and watch your lips take on a whole new shape. Or sweep it on solo for the same three-dimensional effect - tiny flecks of opalescent colors work in chameleon-like ways to give your smile fullness and shine. This particular product is available in one shade only, which is clear to white with lots of glittery shine. It is somewhat thick in consistency but isn't sticky like some glosses can be. Worn alone or over your favorite lip color to add that popular wet look to the lips, this Origins Transforming Lip Glaze comes in a small see-through tube featuring a convenient wand applicator I not prefer to other types.
~~~Packaging, Price, & Availability~~~
Each rather small full sized .17 fluid ounce (5 ml) tube of this Origins Transforming Lip Glaze can be purchased at the Origins counter of your favorite fine department store on online at origins.com for $12.00. That's a steep price for such a small tube of lip glaze, so I think I lucked out when I received this as a sample verses having to pay full price. The wand applicator end is attached to a silver colored lid, which turns into place onto the base. Only the lid is just about as long as the section holding the lip glaze, so there's really not alot of actual product inside. The container itself is perfect for travel or will fit discreetly right into your pocket if desired. Look for a sample of this Origins Transforming Lip Glaze online with the purchase of another Origins product or find a tester at your favorite counter to see if the minty fragrance is something you'd enjoy using.
~~~Product Experience~~~
The short and sweet "HOW TO USE" directions for applying this Origins Transforming Lip Glaze are as follows: Sweep on and smile. The very first thing I noticed when I first applied this clear lip glaze over another shade of lipstick is the cooling effect that lasted for several minutes afterward. I'm not particularly fond of the minty, wintergreen type flavor, however, even though it reminds me of cold winter days for some reason. Or better yet, the flavor reminds me of minty chewing gum (which I don't care for at all myself), so if that's right up your alley, then this fun lip product would be the perfect choice. Otherwise, if the flavor were different, I could easily become addicted to the glossy sheen left on my lips when this is applied. It makes an otherwise dull or ho-hum lip color sparkle and shine. And this lip glaze lasts almost as long as the base lip color does, depending on how much I eat, drink, etc. during wear. So if only this Origins Transforming Lip Glaze were offered in more than one flavor, I just might actually consider paying full price for another tube.
~~~Ingredients~~~
Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Octyldodecanol, Polydecene, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina), Oryza Sativa (Rice) Germ Oil, Caprylic/Capric/Stearic Triglyceride, Flavor (Aroma), Aloe Barbadensis Extract, Lecithin, Octyldodecyl Myristate, Tocopherol, Glyceryl Rosinate, Silica, Simethicone, BHT.
~~~Overall Recommendation~~~
If a minty flavored gloss sounds like something you'd lick your lips for, then this Origins Transforming Lip Glaze is definitely one to add to your lip wear collection. It's easy to apply, is average to long wearing, and adds sparkle and shine to either bare lips or those covered with your favorite matte shade. And as an added bonus, the cooling effect it leaves behind is perfect for cool winter days. So with summer coming up, I doubt I'll be using mine very often, but I have a feeling my teenage daughter just might take this off my hands for me considering the minty flavor is far from being my favorite. In conclusion, this Origins Transforming Lip Glaze is recommended for die hard lip gloss junkies only. Good luck and happy Beauty product shopping :-)
