The Osmotics Blue Copper 5 Firming Elasticity Repair is the 2nd step in their skin care regime which consists of four steps - cleanse, correct, defend, and protect. Its purpose is to work with your aging skin to restore some of its lost youth. This product is different from any other I've tried as it's blue. I was a little concerned about putting something colored on my face, but I've had such a great experience with all of the other Osmotic products I went for it.
The wide-mouth screw-top pot allows you to dip into the cream easily. Just a finger tip dip is enough to do both eyes and forehead and another to do cheeks, chin, and nose. The cream is silky smooth and the color is very reminiscent of blue bubble gum ice cream. At my current use, I expect the 1.7 oz container to last 6-9 months - used twice daily, I'd expect 3-6, but use depends on the person's personal choice of application.
The scent is pleasant and not overwhelming but stronger than most of the other Osmotic products I've tried. The cream feels cool to the touch, goes on smoothly, and there is a noticeable tightening feeling on my face. The blue color disappears into your skin as you lightly massage it in.
I first tried it by doing only the right side of my face. My biggest issue are droopy eyelids. A few minutes after application there was a slight improvement in the total droop, but I also benefited in that it made the crepeiness on my eyelid less noticeable as well. I have seen improvement now on both sides as I'm using it once a day (the instructions are to do it morning and night, but that will never happen with me as I rarely take off my mineral makeup at night).
It's so gentle, there wasn't any issue with putting it over freshly injured skin (although I'm sure the company doesn't recommend it) and the few areas of extreme dryness that have popped up recently had no objections to it as well. In fact, the company states that it "Calms redness and irritation associated with Rosacea, peels and dermal procedures." My Rosacea is not noticeable at all since I've been using the Osmotics products but I can't attribute to just one of their products as I've used them all together. I do know I enjoy not having to think about covering it when going out.
I've used other firming creams and solutions and found most to be sticky and hard to apply makeup over. This had neither of those unfortunate features. The company notes that "This award winning cream combines the proven benefits of copper with an exclusive, new anti-aging molecule, the 5-chain Penta-Peptide to dramatically enhance absorption and effectiveness in the skin." I have to say I agree. It went on beautifully and "dried" quickly. I say "dried" because it's actually still a bit moist, but the lifting can be felt and it's less creamy than at application. I have to say it's the best of the firming creams and much more enjoyable than the Philosophy Firming Serum I've been using.
Why use a firming solution? To keep the youthfulness you have and restore a bit as well. It's for women like me who want their skin not to give away their age and want to look good as long as possible. I'm nearly 50 and my skin looks great for my age. Granted, always wearing make-up with a SPF of 15 in it and then using great products has helped, but I only started actually using fabulous products within the last year. Prior to that I used whatever was at the drugstore or plain soap and water. I would have ended my continuous breakouts, huge pores, and Rosacea troubles much sooner if I had committed to taking care of my skin earlier.
There are five products in the Blue Copper portion of the Osmotics line. The Firming Elasticity Repair is an overall fix. For more targeted repair there's the Firming Eye Repair and Lip & Tuck as well as the Age Repair Body Lift for the bust, belly, and behind. It's said to "visibly reduce stretch marks up to 72%". There's also a Face Lifting Serum.
To Use: This luxurious, nourishing cream may be used by all skin types including sensitive. After only a few days the complexion reveals a noticeable radiance and even tone. With continued use, many women observe that foundation makeup is no longer necessary. After cleansing skin, smooth over entire face and neck. May be used morning or evening according to skin type and personal preference.
