Pros:Easy to use, quiet, easy to clean

Cons:Doesn't come in fusion or retro colors

The Bottom Line: Buy buy. It's inexpensive, good quality and it gets the job done. A great kitchen addition for mere mortals.

Okay soooooo... I've had food processors which end up stored and eventually sold or given away - great invention but vaaary intimidating for a single dad with no time to eat much less clean the 27,937 parts that come with those things. Daunting, scary.

Le voila! Je vous present Le Fusion from Oster. A two in one invention that does what I need it to do with no pretensions of being a Chef Cordon Bleu (jr.). As a blender, it makes great fruit drinks and smoothies. The kids love orange, banana, pineapple but will guzzle down pretty much any combination I make (I even sneak some carrots in most of the time). The one button program for this makes life easy - spins backwards which pulls all the chunks down then spins forward to blend the whole thing together. The blender container is solid and holds just the right amount for meals (me and my 2) or a quick cool me down when it's hot outside.

The food processor side is pretty good for what I need - like the song says, it whips, chops and purees... guac is a piece of cake and so is salsa. Again, the single button program makes all this available to mere mortals like me. The blender container has a small chute that you can use to pop your veggies into... unless you're like me - I just chop the veggies into smaller pieces and throw them in before closing the lid.

The pulse button works well if you just want to crunch stuff up (ice, parsley, cilantro... you get the idea) and it does have manual buttons for more advanced humans. For now I'm content with the pre-programmed buttons. I've had it for a little over a year so I'm thinking it will last a long time.

Looks and feels sturdy, glass container with a heavy duty plastic base. Cleaning is a breeze - the container comes apart in seconds and I just rinse or pop it in the dishwasher. A quick damp wipe keeps the base unit looking good. It's quiet to run (compared to my girlfriend's unit which sounds like a jet engine... the processor not her!) and looks nice on my counter. I got it for $69 at Target but I'm sure it's available at Amazon and other places online. Have fun!
