Pros:Wide Design Blades/More power than the Oster A5 2 speed clippers
Cons:Blades not interchangeable with the Oster A5 clippers.
I chose the Oster Groom-master because I constantly deal with matted dogs who have not ever been groomed. I needed something commercial level to deal with the extreme mangles. I only use the Oster Groom-master for the initial shearing of the dog. For more detailed work and dogs without major tangles I usually use my Clip Master.

The Oster Groom-master is designed more for larger animals such as horses however it is excellent for those canines with thick hair that needs dematting and other heavy duty grooming tasks. I have only used the Oster Groom-master on canines. I have rarely had the blade catch in the hair. My other clippers can not keep up the pace as the Oster Groom-master does in tight tangled matts.
The groom master comes with a 12 foot cord which helps keep it out of the way so you are not constantly tripping over the cord when moving around the animal. My Oster Groom-master came with a number 7 blade, a cleaning brush and some blade oil. Replacement blades should cost you about $28.00 depending on the size you purchase.
I normally use the Oster Clip Master but I needed something that I could use when I get A dog in with deep matted hair. I only use the Oster Groom-master for the initial shearing of the layers of matting and then do my detail work with the Clip Master.
I am very happy with my purchase and will continue to use Oster clippers for all of my grooming needs.
