Pros: Food is served in large portions
Cons: Chaotic run. Needs managment help
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend Outback, because they don't have it together and fumble through everything. Food is not cooked according to customer's satisfaction.

| Bloodredraven's Full Review: Outback Steakhouse |
My husband and I like to sneak out by ourselves when there is a new place in town. When Outback came to Dothan we waited a couple of months before we were able to sneak away from the kids. I was so excited. I had heard great things about other Outback Steakhouses in other states. We waited for over an hour and a half to get in. It was the middle of summer and in the 90s outside. We were soaked with sweat by the time we got inside. The Hostess was pleasant enough, but looked stressed out and about to lose her control. People were crowding her and demanding tables. People who had reservations were waiting in a separate line for the tables to clear. When we made it to our table, the waiter seemed very nervous. He explained he was new and this was his first night. I felt sorry for him. Friday night is not a good time for the first night of work as a waiter or waitress. He did tell us about the specials they had to offer. He kept referring to his notes. When I explained that I had never been to an Outback Steakhouse and didnt know what some of the items were on the menu. He tried to explain them to me, but fumbled through it. We ordered our usual drinks, sweet tea and Coke Cola. For our appetizer we ordered the Famous Blooming onion, I order the Grill Pork Chops with the roasted garlic mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. We, also, ordered the French Onion soup. My husband ordered the Outback special, which is a 12 oz center, cut Sirloin Steak with a salad and mashed potatoes.
The waiter finally brought our drinks. I took a sip of my Coke Cola and got a huge surprise. It was Mr. Pibb! Everyone who knows me will tell you that Mr. Pibb and Dr Pepper make me sick to my stomach. We called the waiter back to our table and explained that I had the wrong drink. He did apologized and I dismissed it as he was new and made a mistake. He brought me a Coke Cola. Then the Blooming Onion arrived. I didnt know that the Aussie dip had Horseradish in it. I dont like Horseradish either. The onion looked like the grease they used to fry it in was not hot enough and the onion was soaked in heavy grease. There was a puddle of grease on the dish surrounding the onion. We were both feeling sick from eating so much grease before our meal arrived at the table. The steak and the pork chops where great. The sides were just what we were told they would be. But we could not get the sick feeling of eating the greasy onion to leave and I think that is what spoiled the meal for us.
The dining area was extremely dark. The décor was definitely Australian Style. They had the boomerangs on every wall and photos of Kangaroos. The paneling was so dark and the lighting was very dim. Which just made the entire dining experience feel like we were trying to hide.
It seemed clean enough, but it was hard to tell. I did run my hand across the table and it felt clean. The aroma of the food was very pleasant and inviting.
My husband was upset by the experience and didnt want to leave a tip for the waiter. I told him I could not leave without giving the guy a tip. After all it was not his fault for the disorder that was happening and he did not train himself. I felt he needed some reassurance so the next time he would work to do a better job. We left a tip and paid a very pricey bill for food, which made us sick for two days.
I just hope they have seen the errors in how the restaurant is run and fix it soon.
