| mtrenck's Full Review: Outback Steakhouse |
My wife absolutely loves this restaurant. She insists that at least once a week (if not more) we go out to the Outback. We live about half way between two different Outbacks and we go to both about the same number of times.
The food is okay, but if you want a GREAT steak you really need to look elsewhere. Outback is great for that quick, relatively cheap dinner for two.
What really ticks me off about Outback is the way they handle their reservations and seat guests as they arrive. Rather than actually confirming a time, they allow you to call ahead and put your name on the waiting list. This is great, except we still end up waiting at least 30-45 minutes whenever they are busy. You can't help notice as you're sitting there that other people coming into the restaurant are often seated before you, even if they came in well after you.
Prices are modest - about $50 for a two person dinner... so long as you don't drink and don't get dessert. Add in the libations and coffee afterwards and you can easily rack up an $80-90 bill just with two people.
If you're in the mood for a quick and cheap steak, then this might be the place for you. But if you're really looking to impress your date... keep moving.
