When it comes to chain restaurants I can usually take them or leave them. I have had the pleasure of dining at OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE on only a few occasions and always leave with the impression that I can't wait to return. When evaluating a restaurant there are three criteria I look for. OUTBACK rates extremely high in all three areas.
1) SERVICE - From the moment you enter and are greeted by the maiter de you know you are a welcome sight at this establishment. They are always warm and genuine and find out everything they need to know the first time.
The wait time is usually minimal unless you come at the height of dinner hour and then it is rarely over 30 minutes. The wait staff is excellent in the carrying out of their responsibilities. They are frindly and conversant, and accurate in the taking of the orders. They make sure you have everything you need and go out of the way to serve you better. They return to your table frequently enough to see to your needs but never to the point of excessive intrusions. They do service well.
2) FOOD/MENU - Outback has a wide variety of menu items. They are cooked to order and I've never had occasion to send anything back. My wife has but when it was brought back out there was a sincere appology and a bigger portion. The portions are generous. No appitizer sized main courses here. I.E. The food is great here.
3) PRICE - OH, yes, price is a biggy. Fortunately at Outback it is a positive biggy. For slightly more than a typical 'fast food' dinner for my family I can treat them to a real dining experience. Even if prices were higher than they are at outback the food and service are definately worth it.
Outback is a chain restaurant that I always generously tip at. For a tight wad like me that says a lot. Try it, you'll like it.
