Thanks for an interesting review. This player seems like a real bargain and I've always liked Pioneer stuff. Shame I don't actually need a DVD player at the moment :-)

Thanks! Try the DV400 - it does have small issues of its own, but it is much easier to use.

Thank you very much for writing such a detailed review, both of this one and its well-known competitor, the Philips DVP-5982.

I have two of the Philips, and while I enjoy the ability to play most video files without conversion through the USB port, it has a lot of annoying qualities as well. One of my players stopped working after about six months, so while it would be easiest to just buy another one to replace it, I was looking for an alternative.

Thanks to your review, I'll give this one a try!
