mtrenck's Full Review: Police Quest Compilation for Windows
With all the new Xbox and Playstation games, many people have forgotten how awesome these old school RPG games are. In the late 1980's and early 1990's Sierra created the absolute best in role playing entertainment and this collection is a great throw back to those times.
This is actually four completely separate games for the price of one. The Police Quest series follows the adventures of a police officer as he writes tickets, breaks up bar fights, makes arrest, and goes on undercover steakouts. I remember when the first Police Quest game came out in the 1980's... I would play for hours trying to figure out the different puzzles.
The game is entertaining, but it also gives you a rough estimate as to what it's like to be a police officer. This is perfect for the young kid (or young grownup) that has always wondered what it was like to be a cop. Although some of the graphics and concepts are a little mature (especially in the later games) I would be comfortable letter my 12 year old kid play this.
The game play is simple... use the arrow keys to move the character and type in what you want him to do. (IE "Take gun" or "open door").
