I live in Austin, Texas and go to PF Changs downtown location at least once a month. I would go more often if my wallet approved! Their food is absolutely delicious. On a typical visit I usually order the Honey Chicken, its similar to typical sweet and sour chicken, only its in a light honey sauce and the breading on the chicken is not as thick as that found at other restaurants. This dish is featured on their lunch menu as well, at $6.95 its hard to beat. I also order Kung Pao chicken ($10.95), this dish is not as spicy as others Ive tried, and there is no thick brown sauce usually found at chinese restaurants. Chang's does it with a dusting of spices on chicken breast pieces that are then cooked lightly with red chile peppers and peanuts. There is no need to worry about mystery meat here. The food is amazingly light, and you are not left with a sick feeling after you are done. This is not your typical Chinese fare - it's better.
I also must say that all entrees are served family style, and the portions are more than generous enough for two adults to share.
Finally, no trip to PF Chang's would be complete without having a piece of The Great Wall of Chocolate. This dessert is by far the best I have ever had! The menu description says it best, "Six layers of rich chocolate cake frosted with semi-sweet chocolate chips and served with raspberry sauce." This is also served with fresh berries on the side that go amazingly well with the cake. I was not a fan of anything raspberry, but some how the sauce just goes perfectly with this cake. The Great Wall might be a little pricey, at $6.95 a slice, but it will easily feed 3 people. It is huge!
Service here is wonderful too, but its not just the waiters. At this restaurant the waiter only mixes your sauce and takes drink orders. It's the people on the floor busing tables and filling drinks that really do the work. The second your glass is less than 3/4 full, they fill it up for you. I have been going here for over a year now and it never fails. They also bring your meal and clear plates between courses. When friends and I go, we always tip these employees, they deserve it. They work much harder than the waiters.
