| j.aron's Full Review: Pabst Blue Ribbon |
Pabst Blue Ribbon has found a spot in my heart and it isn't stopping the blood flow. This is one of the true 'American' Beers, the kind of beer that has brought us through wars and droughts. This beer has survived the worst parts of our countries history and now yuppies are slamming it because it isn't like those Euro-beers. If you want to see a good honest viewing of what real Americans drink, head into the nearest VFW. There is a good chance you will find the Blue Ribbon there.
But PBR is more then an 'American' beer. It is a constant, what ever bar you walk in, store you go to, the PBR will quench your thirst and put a smile on your face. And the next day you'll still feel right as rain. And I mean that PBR doesn't give you as bad of a hang over as most micro brews. I'm not sure why, maybe the brewers know what they are doing and not trying to figure out how to make it. And I have tired that with some microbrews and it can change from bar to bar even in the same city.
But let's face it PBR isn't the best beer and what you like will mater on your taste. It has a place in life and that is the hardest thing to find for PBR. I find the light taste(although stronger then other cheap beers) goes well at bars, after I've had a few drinks and just want to stay happy with out dropping all my cash. It also goes well while watching sporting events. You can scream your head off, soothe your throat and not fill your belly with some heavy beer. I would suggest against PBR if you want to have only one drink and want it to be good. There are better beers for that and PBR doesn't have the body to be a one drink beer.
As I figure, writing a review on PBR is like writing a review on air, everyone has tried it and they know what it is like.
