Pros: Excellent detail and workmanship; awesome props; great articulation
Cons: Maybe that he's not the naked brown furry Rowlf from his Muppet Show days
The Bottom Line: An excellent figure to add to your collection or have if you are a fan, even if he isn't the original naked Rowlf (which is soon to come).

| sweet_caroline's Full Review: Palisades Muppet Show Series 3: Rowlf |
Well..here is yet another Palisades figure that is just superb. Rowlf or Tuxedo Rowlf, as he is sometimes called on various websites, is an awesome figure with great detail and likeness, as well as excellent accessories. He is wearing a black and white tuxedo number, which isn't exactly how lot of us remember him, but reports say that a naked Rowlf will be released later on in the Palisades Muppet line. I still think he looks great though, even if he is wearing an uncharacteristic tuxedo.
SCULPT AND PAINT:
The sculpt and paint job on this Rowlf figure is excellent. His features portray the original Muppet character perfectly.
For clothing, Rowlf is wearing a black and white tuxedo number, as I said earlier. He has on a collared white tuxedo dress shirt with vertical pleats at the breast, a white bow tie, and a white lapeled vest with three buttons down the front. He is also wearing a black tuxedo jacket with shiny black lapels and long coat tails in the back. I like the coat tails because they are made of soft pliable plastic, which gives a nice added touch. Rowlf also has on black tuxedo pants with black shiny stripes down the sides, as well as a pair of black patent shoes to complete the look. His ensemble is well designed for this chubby little figure...sorry Rowlf, and it looks great.
Rowlf's facial features and expression are also well captured and sculpted. He's got big egg-shaped eyes, a shiny black knobby nose, a wide mouth, and big floppy ears. His head, ears and hands are detailed to appear like a long brown furry coat of fur, which seems to complete his look. All in all, I think Rowlf really does greatly resemble the Muppet character from the original show.
ARTICULATION:
Rowlf has 10 points of articulation, which I've found to be an above average number of joints for the figures in the Muppet line so far. He turns his head from side to side, rotates at the shoulders with balljoints, rotates above the elbows, turns at the waist, bends at the top of each leg, and also wiggles his ears. I find that the figures flexibility allows him to be posed in various ways with other Muppet characters, as well as his props. It simply adds more fun to the figure.
ACCESSORIES:
Rowlf comes with some of the best accessories I've seen yet for a Muppet figure. Even though he only has two accessories, I think they are awesome.
He comes with his own baby grand piano, which is pretty BIG, by the way! The piano's lid opens to reveal all the piano strings and inner workings. It has a nice sheet music stand, as well as foot pedals that descend from under the front of the piano. The piano is not a small prop and is about the size of two Muppet figures. You could almost consider it a playset!
Rowlf's other figure is a Bust of Beethoven, which is actually very well designed and sculpted. It can fit right on top of the piano for Rowlf's viewing.
I really applaud Palidsades on these accessories, as they really suit Rowlf's character and look awesome on display.
FINAL JUDGMENT:
Rowlf is a really great figure, and I find him a lot of fun with his flexibility and his great accessories. He would be a must-have for any collection, and would be a fun purchase for any fan, whether a collector or not.
He is wearing an uncharacteristic tuxedo, however. If you want a naked Rowlf, more like the original character, he will be coming out sometime later in the line, but I haven't heard anything of an exact date yet.
