| sweet_caroline's Full Review: Palisades The Muppet Show - Series #2: Crazy Harry... |
At first, I didn't remember who Crazy Harry was. He looked only vaguely familiar. I remembered him after watching the original Muppet Shows on DVD, and noticed that he pops up all over the place. I have to say that Palisades did a really good job. He looks just as he should...CRAZY!
SCULPT AND PAINT:
Crazy Harry looks just like The Muppet Show's original character, thanks to the great workmanship put into this figure.
He is wearing a khaki green long sleeve army uniform-like shirt with lapels, breast pockets, four buttons down the front, as well as creases from wear. He's also wearing a dark blue undershirt with long sleeves and fabric like-texture, brown pants accessorized by a black belt that are tucked into his knee-high lace-up black boots. His army-like apparel suits him and makes him resemble even more the explosive and demolishing pyrotechnic he is.
Harry's hands and face are a greenish-white tone, which is true to the way he looks on film. He's sculpted with thick head of black unruly hair and a matching beard. He has the characteristic big bulging eyes with bags under them, as well as a gaping smirking mouth complete with teeth, gums and a tongue. Both of which are telling of his desire to blow something up...right now!
Overall, I think Palisades did a great job with this figure's sculpt and paint. I like the detail and the likeness in incredible. I love it...he looks totally crazy!
ARTICULATION:
Crazy Harry has 12 points of articulation. He turns his head from side to side, rotates at the shoulders with balljoints, bends a the elbows, rotates his hands, turns at the waist, bends at the top of each leg, and swivels his feet at at the top of each boot.
His ample articulation allow you to pose him in various positions, which I find fun because then I can set him up in different displays, and it's not the same boring old position. Also, because of his posability, he stands well on his own and doesn't need the stand that comes with him.
ACCESSORIES:
Crazy Harry comes with some cool accessories that are just perfect for this figure's character.
-A wooden barrel marked GUNPOWDER that opens with a removable lid
-A round black bomb with a real string fuse
-Two red sticks of dynamite...Harry's favorite (which he can hold perfectly in each hand)
-A detonator in silver box casing with a working plunger
-An oval black stand with the Muppet Show logo on it to use for displaying the figure (even though he stands well on his own)
His accessories totally suit him and are fun to pose him with. The effect is great!
FINAL JUDGMENT
The figure looks awesome. His props and articulation are a bonus to an already great looking figure. Crazy Harry was created completely in character. He looks awesome on display, especially with other Muppet figures. He would be a great figure to own for any collector, or just fun to have if you are a fan of the Muppet Show and Muppet Movies.
I couldn't recommend that this figure generally be for children under age 5, as there are small parts and he could possibly be broken with rough play.
