Screen problems? (Reply to this comment)
by chrisfll
I feel your criticism of the color screen is misleading. Do you know if the battery on the preproduction model you handled was nearly discharged? Because the units I examined had bold clarity good color rendition and certainly did not exhibit the problems you're describing.

When the m505 are generally available, go to a store and look at the screen yourself. See what you think. I don't know that the color CLIE will ever be available outside of Japan, so waiting for it might not be your best option.

Still Waiting (Reply to this comment)
by pulsar1990
I have a Palm III that is now two years old. I was going to buy a new Visor Platinum this summer then the Edge came out, so I wanted to get one of those. Then the M505 came out and sounded good but I don't like the problems you mentioned with the screen and "expansion" options. What I am waiting for now is the Edge with the Japan only (for now) Clie's screen. It is Color with 330x320 resolution. That would be the ultimate Palm OS handheld. It would be a true equal to the PocketPC handhelds.

Which Palm to buy is a very personal choice that should be based on how you intend to use your Palm and what features are important to you. Do you want to read eBooks? Keep large databases on your Palm? Use it as a datebook/contacts keeper? Play games? All of the above?

I've been thinking about diving into the PDA world and had been considering waiting for this one. Now I'm not so sure...
