People keep complaining the screen is not bright enough, but I find it okay, and that will be your only, if any, complain on this machine. Actually, the screen looks great under sunlight or bright environment, which unlike the earlier palm, you have to avoid using it under direct sunlight. But the best part is that it has the expansion slot for a memory card! I use the 16MB card to store pictures and other files. I also have the games pack and dictionary and they are great! It already has 8MB build in, but imagine you can put a 32MB card to make a 40MB palm!
There are already lots of software designed for this machine, and many of them take the advantage of the 16bit-colour display. The screen does not only look good with colour, it is actually easier to view compared to black and white. For an extra $70 more, you can get the m505 rather than the b/w m500, what a deal! Also, the battery life is not even an issue here with the colour screen. As mentioned before, the screen looks better under bright light, so sometimes I have to turn on the back light indoor, but the batteries never drain out with extensive used. You have to experience it to believe it. I highly recommend the Palm m505.
