The most important advantage for the M505 is its very compact and solid design. It's small and sturdy enough to keep with you at all times without being obtrusive or worried about damaging it. The screen is always bright enough when ambient light is available or when it's dark and the sidelight is used. It's when the lighting is somewhere in between when the readability may be slightly dim. A brighter sidelight with a control slider like the one in the IIIC would improve the situation. The vibrating alarm is a welcome additional feature that is very useful in certain situations. The only real low point is that the power button doesn't have that secure tight feel like the rest of the controls. The power button is lighted when charging and provides an additional silent alarm cue. Palm finally weighted the included cradle which makes it much more secure and stable. Finally, the battery lasts forever!!!
