I just got my m505 a week ago. I bought it directly from Palm because I wanted the red m505. This was a mistake. They screwed up my order several times and charged me each time. I was determined to return it as soon as it was delivered.
I haven't put it down since I opened the box. The 65K color screen leaves a lot to be desired, but it is still much better than the gray scale of my old PDA.
It's a sleek, sharp gadget, and it came with everything I needed to use right out of the box: usb cable to hook up your power source and to your computer for synchronizing, rechargable batteries, Palm Desktop and Hot Sync software, and $50 worth of software. I had already downloaded the full instruction manual.
After I bought the unit, I found out through various online message boards that there is/was a serious problem with the USB connection. Palm has a downloadable fix right on the website, so hopefully, I won't experience that problem.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my new gadget! I use it for everything from work (I'm an engineer and have downloaded lots of engineering software) to reading books to having my wine list on hand.
