Well not many people would dare to discuss what I am about to share with you but there is another great use for Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E! Did I get your attention?
Not that I want to be known as the poster boy for this particular horrible situation but it is something that affects young and old, male and female, and it all begins usually with something you ate! Or should I say, the lack of fiber and natural foods in our bodies? Okay, so that is for another discussion....Also this debilitating situation is frequent amongst pregnant women after giving birth.
Okay so the condition that I am talking about is known as an anal fissure. I never knew this condition even had a name but that is what it is. An anal fissure is what describes a cut in your bum. This cut can become your worst enemy and take over your world, leaving you to tears, fears, and basically destroying any active lifestyle you had. This is something basically that you would wish on your worst enemy!
I got my fissure back in August 2004. I was practicing vegetarianism and because I was training for a marathon, I had began to eat meat. By body did not like this and I created a fissure. And the following three years were some of the most difficult and challenging that I have ever had since this condition continuously inflicts psychological turmoil and desperation that leads to trying so many remedies (if you can call them that because really it is like finding a needle in a haystack to find what works for you).
I will share more of my predicament with you further below, but I will now get back to how Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E has helped me with this unfortunate disaster.
**How did I discover Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E for this ailment? After reluctantly finding a colon rectal surgeon (CRS) and having my embarrassing appointment, the specialist provided me with a sample size of Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E along with some specific instructions on what to do next. So this was recommended by the CRS to help alleviate the damage done to the bottom area. It helps keep the skin there soft while trying to help soothe and heal the cut.
**How to best apply this lotion for this particular ailment? The best way to apply the lotion for this area is after you have taken a bath/shower but to first make sure the area is dry. This also includes blow drying the spot with the cool setting to make sure everything is DRY. Once that is taken care of, you apply a very thin layer of Palmer's to the spot. This will not only help provide moisturization to the area, but it will also help shield the cut some from possible bacteria. (NOTE: Palmer's is not an antibiotic so it will not prevent infection.)
**What is in Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E? Ingredients are Theobroma Cacao Extract, Mineral Oil, Microcrystaline Wax, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter, Dimethicone, Fragrance, Tocopheryl Acetate, Benzyl Alcohol, Carotene.
**How do you get Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula products?Palmer's comes in many sizes and shapes - from bottles to small personal containers to large tubs. You can find this product at Target, Wal-Mart, your local drug store or grocer.
**Can I find more information on the Internet about this product or on anal fissures? Yes, for Palmer's Cocoa Butter products, please visit www.palmerscocoabutter.com

**Here is some more of my story and how I found what worked for me.I will leave out the bloody details, because there are plenty of them, but eventually my fissure caused me to get a fistula - and those are not fun either. This was diagnosed at the end of 2006 by my CRS. Because I was afraid of having colon cancer, we scheduled a colonscopy, fissurectomy, LIS (lateral internal sphincterotomy), and a fistulotomy. I was so scared!!!!! I had never had surgery and thinking about having surgery right on my bum was something I never imagined. Due to the new diagnosis, I discovered macrobiotics. And that along with the colonoscopy, I believe was my way out of this fissure-mess. (I did die-hard macrobiotics, or what I could being available to me, and it helped alleviate my fissure and fistula that the CRS cancelled the LIS and fistulotomy - but we agreed to proceed with the colonoscopy.)
