My skin has been incredibly dry and itchy these last few months. One day while walking through Rite-Aid during my lunch break, I spotted Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E and decided to give it a try.
The Product Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E is packaged in a white tub with a twist off lid. The size that I purchased was the 3.5 ounce container, which retailed for about $5 at Rite-Aid. The product is available in a 7.25, 3.5, and 0.7 ounce containers.
Palmer States "Enriched with Vitamin E, in a soothing emollient base. Heals and softens rough, dry skin. Helps smooth and blend unattractive marks and scars. Tones skin. Ideal for deep moisturization, including overnight treatments. Widely recommended for stretch marks during and after pregnancy"

My Experience Initially, I wasn't sure how exactly to use Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E. Opening the container revealed a solid, light yellow matter. While it smelled wonderful, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to scoop some out or just run my fingers lightly on top of the substance.
For the first few applications, I swirled my fingers over the cocoa butter and that heated some of it up so that it clung to my fingertips. I applied the cocoa butter to my dry skin. However, I decided that I'd try scooping a bit of the butter into my palms and then rubbing my palms together to heat up the butter -- this was a much better way of applying the cocoa butter. When the cocoa butter heats up in my palms, it becomes fairly greasy and thick, making it the perfect time to apply it to dry, parched, and itchy skin.
I applied the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E to my arms, legs, heels and belly -- all of which have varying degrees of dryness and itchiness. The cocoa butter worked wonders on my skin! It leaves my skin very soft and very moisturized. Because the cocoa butter takes a while to absorb, I apply it prior to bedtime and let it have the night to absorb into my skin. In the morning, my skin is very well moisturized and definitely not as itchy. I like the cocoa scent to it, but because the scent is fairly strong, I prefer to use it only at night as to not clash with other scents.
The Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E is said to be widely used for stretch marks during and after pregnancy. The cocoa butter does not prevent stretch marks, it only helps fade them. I have also used the cocoa butter on a scar on my hand; it helps to soften the scar but doesn't make it go away. The product is a great product but it's certainly not a miracle worker that can stave off stretch marks.
Overall Thoughts All in all I'm quite pleased with the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E. It's an effective moisturizer that leaves skin soft and smelling delicious!
