As mentioned before in my review on Corn Cob Nobs, I am a Consultant with Pampered Chef. If you have a Consultant of your very own, be sure to contact him/her to order one of these! If you don't have one you can e-mail me personally to place an order OR you can visit www.pamperedchef.com to see our entire catalog and even find a Consultant in your area!
One of the items that my family really wanted me to get from Pampered Chef was the Corn Butterer. Anytime we'd have corn on the cob we'd smear butter all over a piece of bread and then roll the corn through it. The bread also worked at a "holder" so the corn didn't slide all over the place once it was buttered. At the time we already owned the Corn Cob Nobs so this made our set complete!
We use Country Crock in the stick form and to make use of the Corn Butterer you simply slide a 1/2 stick of whatever butter you're using into the plunger. There is a cap to cover it so storage in the refrigerator keeps the butter fresh and less messy.
My favorite feature of this item is the curved dispensing area. My kids refer to this at the "Sit and Spin" area for their corn. They literally place the ear of corn on there and spin away! The Corn Butterer is dishwasher safe but must be placed away from the heating element! Top rack or silverware tray is best.
During one of my Shows that I was doing I had a lady tell me that she used her's to butter the tops of fresh-baked bread. Another lady mentioned using it to baste her turkey at Thanksgiving. Once you own one of these little babies I'm sure you'll find even more uses for it!
The only drawback that I've heard so far is that it *only* holds 1/2 a stick of butter. Personally I'm not so sure this is a drawback though because I'm not a big fan of eating solid/melted/refrigerated butter. Know what I mean? Once it's been melted by the hot corn I prefer it be pretty close to gone and then I'll replace it. I still plan to use my slice of bread to hold the corn in place once it's buttered though!! :)
As always, there is a Use and Care Guide included with the product and also a couple recipes. The Corn Butterer will set you back a whole $2.75 (or 100 points if you Host the Show!). For that price you could buy 2 or 3 and keep for yourself or give as gifts!
