I'm a P.C. consultant, so you may think I'm predjudiced, but I really do love my stone. I was introduced to P.C. about ten years ago, and after about 8 years of attending parties off and on, I found I just had to have so much of the product that the only way to go was to join up!
As far as the Large Round (pizza) Stone is concerned, I find it useful for any type of flat stone baking I do. It's great for sandwich rings, braids, pizza, cookies... you name it.
One great thing about the stones is that you can use them in the microwave as well as in the conventional oven. That is a big plus for me right now, as my conventional oven is out of order and I am still able to enjoy almost all baked goods. (Since I find bread products don't bake well from scratch in the microwave, I simply purchase one of the pre-baked crusts, and add my pizza ingredients. The pizzas get rave reviews!)
When we eat out at our favorite hamburger place, there are always too many fries for me to finish. Now, if you've ever thought 'what a waste' because they just don't warm up well the next day, take heart! I have found that on a stone my fries are actually better the second time around. I've found liked them a bit better when I had the regular oven to warm them in, but they work out just fine in the microwave too.
I also am sold on Pampered Chef's 3 yr. extended warranty. I have had to use it once myself, and helped several customers use it as well. The process is simple, as long as you keep your receipt (if you've lost it, contact the consultant you made your purchase from and they may be able to help you with a duplicate). The replacement product is usually returned to you within 10 days, no questions asked.
I've never had it that easy in any store!
