Dear Susan:
Thanks so much for the give and take via e-mail and for understanding the reasons behind the comments, etc... You really are one of the stellar long-time Epinions members and for those who are not familiar with your extensive activity in the past, this is proof of why you are so highly regarded. The update is wonderful.
Thanks again and again.

Writers response (Reply to this comment)
by sgentile
I am truthfully stunned by the response (mean-spirited nature) of some of these comments and the ratings. Not a very welcoming atmosphere for one who used to adore this site and spent many a volunteer hour writing and helping to develop new writers (some of whom are now advisors).
In the past when referring to products it was ok to list the company's website. Has this changed? I'm sorry I haven't taken the time to read the TOS, epinions is no longer my life the way it was when I was one of the founding members and original advisors (called experts back then).
I am embarrassed to respond here with my thoughts to you all, but apparently airing what should be private conversations is the only way to get a response from members who used to be friends. In my epinion days I would respectfully email a writer and try to correspond away from public comments. Ok, here are some more responses.
I didn't list MY website, which is quite different from the company's website (mine ends in "biz" then has some personalizations I won't list ~ PC's ends in "com"). There is NO way for anyone going to the main Pampered Chef site to find MY website, even if they knew my consultant number, which I AM free to share but didn't list because I am NOT looking for business. My Pampered Chef business has grown at a surprising rate and I am busier than I originally planned. I simply love these products and thought "why not" ~ I haven't written at epinions in ages. If someone goes to the main Pampered Chef site and purchases a million baker's rollers I do not earn a cent from that sale, unless they are ordered from my personal website. Does this make sense? All I offered to do was answer product questions. When I used to lead the Family section here at Epinions, I offered myself to receive comments or emails without any trouble, and helped a great deal of parents and new epinion writers. I like to help people by nature (I am a brownie leader and a member of the Girl SCout council - my volunteer days did not end when I left epinions).
I truly don't get what has caused the over-the-top emotions in some (not all - you'll see my reviews have been well received by others not jumping on the wrath of epinions advisor bandwagon)- or why no one else thought to email me (except for one old friend who treated me like a normal person. Trust me, if I "got it" my review would have met your expectations the first time around.
When I was an advisor here I would never have left a not helpful rating on a good review that had a few problems with it (due to rules that have changed since she left) to a respected member. Certainly not left nasty remarks. I would have rated it "helpful" and emailed or left a general comment asking the writer to email me. In my opinion, a "not helpful" for a thorough review that has one thing you disagree with is not accurate. There was definitely a misunderstanding here, or you have lost the fact that there is a person behind this keyboard.
If you don't mind, please tell me what needs to go, the website? Please use my email to respond to me its_me_susan2003@yahoo.com. I don't check epinions several times a day like I do my email.
Those of you who know me, know I *am* a rule follower. I will be happy to fix what needs to be corrected. I do have a real life, with young kids and they are home with me - so I am not glued to my computer. Please allow me the time to live a life and comply with your wishes.
I don't have time to email each of you - please "alert" each other that I have responded.
Best Wishes,
Susan

Thanks For Understanding (Reply to this comment)
by gamblin_man, in Home and Garden
The site has morphed some over the years and we really appreciate you working to get your review within the latest guidelines. I didn't see this review before your update, but apparently you are trying to work with the new rules. Thank you.
Unfortunately I still had to rate your review NH because of a Terms of Service violation that is being enforced more strongly now. This is the relevant clause: "You agree that you shall not post any information:
....
that includes any information that references addresses, email addresses, contact information or phone numbers;
....". It is here if you would like to read all about the rules as they are today. http://www.epinions.com/help/show_~useragreement.
I sure hope this isn't the straw that breaks your camel's back and that you will make one more update and then fill us in on all the great (and maybe not so great) Pampered chef products you write so well about.
Thanks for understanding. Please email me at gamblin_man@hughes.net with the url after you update so I can give the review the VH it really deserves.

Good to see you back among us! (Reply to this comment)
by pogomom, in Home and Garden
Hi Susan:
Great to see your name pop up and the fact that your review is in H&G is even more of a reason to celebrate.
I do have to agree with the two members who posted comments below. The review is great but the shilling is not. At least in H&G, reviewing products you sell and trying to sell them within the review is a definite reason to rate Not Helpful. In my opinion, that goes against what Epinions is all about.
Consider this, if you had a site where people could post their experiences with PC products and it was your sales site and main source of revenue, would you want others to post contact information so they could sell your clients their products? I don't think so. Epinions earns revenue when people buy products from their merchant partners. If Pampered Chef isn't a merchant partner, they may want to consider it. Meanwhile, people can purchase PC products on ebay and that's the parent company.
Please let me know when you remove the sales information and I'll happily come back to read and rate your review, again.
Thanks for understanding.

Not Helpful (Reply to this comment)
by jdhauer
This is a biased review as you are reviewing something you sell and are also offering to provide information to others (i.e. sell to them) in your review. Sorry but I do not find this helpful.
