Pros: It is lightweight but sturdy; inexpensive; and is very handy to have.
Cons: The lid could be a little easier to remove.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this pot for microwaving because it's so versatile and easy to use and clean.

My sister has parties. Its what she does. She hosts parties. If someone at her church sells jewelry, she has a party; if someone does scrapbooking, she has a party; if they sell Home Interior, she has a party; and of course if they sell Pampered Chef, she has a party. And those are just a few of the many kinds she's had. Some of the parties (we used to call them home demonstrations) she has offers interesting or useful items. Some dont offer anything Im interested in. To be honest, I try hard not to attend most of her parties because I really dont need anything but I feel like I should buy something just to help out her sales. At least once a year, she hosts a Pampered Chef party. Now, to me, thats the one I dont want to go to most because Ive been to many and I am not a huge fan of their stoneware products. Many of their items are expensive and I just havent fallen in love with the products. So, last year when she had a Pampered Chef party I didnt attend. My other sister did attend and took my mom along. Now, my mom often attends these gatherings but seldom buys anything because her resources are limited, and at eighty, she needs very little. This years party produced a small attendance and my sister turned it into a booking party.
I mentioned my mother because when I was over to her house a few months ago, she had this little plastic-looking pot that she used to cook some vegetables in and she mentioned how much she loved the pot. I asked her if it was safe to use (it looked like it could be one of her dollar store purchases) because I have this thing about using plastics when cooking food. She told me that she had purchased it at one of my sisters Pampered Chef parties.
I took a closer look at the pot and found that it was actually made well. It is a black plastic like material. It was lightweight (which is good for my mom) and the surface was kind of porous feeling. She put in the water, then the veggies, snapped on the lid and cooked the vegetables in record time. She particularly likes it because she has a tendency to overcook or burn vegetables on the stove. Shes afraid to cook much on the stove lately and this she felt safe and confident to use. She told me I should get one because they are really cheap. I wondered how cheap a major cooking item could be at Pampered Chef and was amazed to learn it only cost $6.00!
So, I ordered one through my sisters book party. You know what? I like it. I really like it!
There is just my husband and myself at home and this small pot is big enough to cook veggies for the two of us. Its easy to use and easy to store. The handle doesnt get hot and many times I serve the two of us out of it at the table. I just put a trivet under it so the table doesnt get too hot or burn under it. It saves a serving dish and stays warm for a while too. Now I wouldnt be this casual if we had guests but it works for the two of us. After using it for three months, it still looks great too.
I use also to heat water, melt butter, heat warm-ups (mainly single person warm-ups) and just about anything else that Id usually use a small bowl or dish for in the microwave. Sometimes I use the snap on lid and sometimes I dont and I still get great results.
I usually just use dish soap and hot water to clean it. After melting butter (or using it for greasy food warm-ups) I usually put it on the top rack of my dishwasher and wash it there. Because the plastic material seems kind of porous, that assures me that I can use it for the next food without there being any residue to interfere with the next food or liquid Im microwaving. Its really nice that it is dishwasher safe. I dont use it on my bottom racks because it seems as though the heat might be too much for it and I want to make sure that the lid will always fit for when I want to use it.
The container has spouts on it which is really nice for pouring liquids that youve warmed up. My mom is not very strong and I feel she is safe using this product because theres less of a chance of her burning herself when she pours out hot water from this small light weight container.
Inside the container are measurements that let you know how much matter you are putting into the pot. The markings indicate 1 to 4 cups. This is very helpful when you are using it either for recipes or for just warming up water for a cup of coffee or tea.
There is a larger size that is available but this one seems to fit all of the needs I have when microwaving foods for the two of us.
Ive found a Pampered Chef item that I really like! The price is great too. So if you need a small microwave pot that allows various uses, Id recommend that you get one of these!
