| mommykd's Full Review: Pampers Baby-Dry With Quick Grip Diapers |
After my horrific experience with Luvs diapers, one would think I would have just gone back to my trusted brand and stuck with them, right? But of course, I did not, and that leads me to an opinion on Pampers Baby Dry diapers.
With a breathable clothlike cover and snug elastic at the legs, and also stretchable velcro side fasteners, Pampers Baby Dry diapers are otherwise like any other disposable diaper, and we all know what they are used for: covering baby's bottom to contain urine and poop! And for the most part, these diapers live up to their promise.
We purchased the Size 3 diapers, which are for babies weighing 16-28 lbs. They feature Sesame Street designs on the front waist band. In addition to this design, the entire diaper is covered with a smaller print of clouds, kites, butterflies, etc.
As I said, for the most part, Pampers Baby Dry Diapers do keep baby dry. My son is 10 months old and has had no problems with these diapers during the day. They fit snug around his legs - even when he is crawling, cruising or climbing. There has been no irritation to his skin and even when he had a slightly "loose" day or two last week, it did not leak out anywhere.
Night time is a different story, however. Pampers Baby Dry Diapers do not keep my baby dry at night at all!! He was soaked completely through anytime he wore the diapers at night. Completely through!: PJ's, sheets, blanket, teddy bear, etc. The first night, I blamed myself - maybe I didn't secure the diaper tight enough, maybe I didn't check the legs before putting him to bed, etc. Even on night 2, I still didn't blame the diaper - maybe he just had too much to drink before bedtime. The next evening, he spent the night with his Granny, and she had different diapers (Pampers Cruisers) and he was not soaked through in the morning. Back at home? You guessed it! Drenched the next morning. Apparently it didn't matter in the least bit to him, as he slept through every episode. But Mommy just started a new job and is still adjusting to getting 2 kids up and out the door at 6:30 AM. Mommy doesn't have time for changing sheets and washing baby before heading off to work. Needless to say, he no longer wears the Pampers Baby Dry Diapers at night!!
Dry enough: Overall, I do like these diapers, despite the overnight experiences. Unlike the Luvs, we had no daytime leaks, fortunately no poopy leaks, and the Pampers did not give him a rash. They just do not seem to protect my little guy for overnight wear. We are still using them for daytime - and they are fine at naps.
