Hi Pippa... you're always good for a laugh, well a snicker anyway!
Good point, I was thinking the same thing, but ultimately I could care less about what these celebs do and say. They're all so plastic, who could trust a thing that comes out of their mouths.
Thanks for the laugh!

Hi Sherri thanks for the suggestion. Another one of my neighbors potty trained her son at 2! Anyway, she recommended the same video, so when Will was 18-months old I purchased the video along with several potty books, just so I could introduce the idea of using the potty. Once he started showing interest (at 2) I purchased a potty chair. He still asks to see the video, and I do believe it's helped encourage him along the way.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your recommendation.

"I honestly think there is no magic formula for potty training. Potty training is certainly proof that no two children are the same."
Hi Rae! Oh yes... I agree! What works for some, doesn't seem to work for others, and then there's the set-backs. There's a boy in William's pre-school who's been trained for a while now, and he suddenly went into reverse. No one knows why, but he's started messing in his pants again.
Anyway, it doesn't help that my husband's in and out so much with work. I think this whole potty training thing could have gone smoother had he either been here more often (every night), or just been gone for a significant amount of time (a month or so). As it is, he's here for a week, and then gone for a week. It takes a day or two for Will to adjust each time he goes out of town.
Thank you for the encouragement. He is nearly there, and I'm relieved!

I just had to pop in with a what the...
Like I'm supposed to believe that Catherine Zeta Jones KNOWS whether or not her child wets the bed at night? Like the NANNY doesn't get up and change the sheets or whatever? Puh-leeze! :)

It takes time (Reply to this comment)

I have a new 3 1/2 year old who only has been trained for about 6 months. It was very difficult with her. My older child was 2 1/2 when she was potty trained, and she has never wet the bed or had an accident from that time to this day (she's 8 1/2). With my younger child basicially refusing to potty train, I realized that children really are all different. I wrote a review about a video called "Once Upon A Potty." This video was the last tool I could pull out of my bag of tricks to interest my daughter in potty training. Like someone else mentioned, she was too busy playing to stop and go potty. After watching that video a few times, she wanted to be like the girl on the video and have underwear. Waa-Laa, she started using the potty. BUT, she still has an accident about once every two to three weeks, and usually it's at night. It sounds like your son really is there with him just having a few accidents. Boy, potty training really can be a challenge, can't it?

child for the most part. My daughter was simple to train, my son was a nightmare who I thought would never get trained, but of course he eventually did. I honestly think there is no magic formula for potty training. Potty training is certainly proof that no two children are the same. Another great review!
Take care,
Rae

Hi Peggy!
No, I didn't see the show, but I probably would have wanted to slap her too. Although, I do believe some children can be trained rather quickly. There is a 3-year old girl who lives on our street, and her mom pretty much potty trained her in one weekend. It blew me away, because she's very stubborn like Will, but she must hate the wet feeling. I think part of Will's problem is that he doesn't want to be interrupted from play time to go sit on the toilet. Thanks for the encouragement, and I'm glad you got your boy through the night!

He claims he can potty train a child in a day! HA! I wanted to personally slap Catherine Zeta Jones when she so proudly claimed that she had zero problems at night with her 3 year old. I just got my 6 year old to be dry through the night.
Glad to here you're almost there! Great review.

Hi Shantel:
Yes, I agree... I think there's a lot of truth to that, "I don't think it matters WHAT we use they will do it when they want to."
I started slow, because he was also transitioning out of the crib, which was very difficult for him. I almost wish I started potty training 1st. Oh well, I guess the important thing is that he's nearly there. He'll have an accident once a week, or so and feel really embarrassed about it. I pray we'll be done by Christmas when we go visit the in-laws. I definitely don't want that negative vibe getting in his head... "He's NOT potty trained yet?" KWIM?
Thanks for the comment.

wondered how well these work since I have a 9 month old and I'll be doing potty training for the 2nd time in a couple of years. Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I don't think it matters WHAT we use they will do it when they want to LOL
