When my tiny little bunny was born almost a full month early, he surprised us all. We brought him home from the hospital weighing in at a mere 5 pounds, 8 ounces. Nevertheless, he grew incredibly quickly, and in no time at all had earned the nickname Little Pooper. His liquid poops ran right down his skinny little legs and up his skinny little back. The diapers we had purchased just didnt seem to hug tight enough to contain the poop!
My husbands friends held a diaper poker night where the price of admission was a bag of diapers for our little boy. What a wonderful idea! Not only did we get enough diapers to keep him going for three months, but I got the opportunity to test drive every major brand of diaper without spending a penny!
I tried the Huggies and the Luvs without much luck in the leak department, but when I got to the bag of Swaddlers, I was hooked!
The Swaddlers have a cottony feel and stretchy sides which are very effective at containing leaks. In fact, the sides are so stretchy, they can be overlapped if your baby is on the skinny side. The closures are Velcro for easy-checking without actually changing. The diapers feel so soft and pliable all over, I imagine they must be very comfortable. They also have cute pictures which make changing-time a little more fun!
I find the Swaddlers more expensive and so to budget, I use these luxury diapers at night and when we on long trips, and cheaper diapers when we are just hanging around at home. These are the ideal nighttime diapers both because of their lack of leaks as well as their soft feel. I find my baby actually sleeps better in these diapers. I have also found that they fit a bit larger than other diapers and had to move him up one size in the cheaper brand when I was still using the size 1 Swaddlers.
Sadly, the swaddlers seem only to be available in sizes one and two. I will be searching out the cruisers when the time comes to see if they live up to the expectation created by my swanky Swaddlers.
