Good phone/answerer overall

Cons: Battery Life, no cue/rew, only one ringer tone.
The Bottom Line: A solid cordless phone / answerer with all the basic features you need.

This has been a great phone overall. I wanted a digital phone because I am concerned about security of my conversations, although I know that analog phones have slightly better audio quality. Even the cheapest Radio Shack scanner can pick up the audio from an analog cordless phone. You have to be careful about this because many cordless answerers will say "Digital" all over the box, but if you look closely, they are referring to the digital answering machine, and the phone is analog. You must make sure that your phone has digital transmission.
The original battery did not last very long. After that battery wore out (about one year) I purchased a replacement battery (genuine Panasonic, not a knockoff) and the difference has been amazing. It lasts and lasts!
The other thing I love about this phone is having the speakerphone on the handset - why didn't they think of this earlier? I love to chat on speakerphone wherever I am in the house.
My main gripe is with the answering machine. One problem is that it does not have a cue/rew function. If you get a lengthy message from someone and you miss something they say, you have to repeat the whole message to hear it again. It does, however, offer a slow playback feature which helps with those people that say their phone number as one continuous stream. The other problem with the answerer happens after you are finished listening to your messages.
After listening to messages, you cannot review caller id until the machine resets itself (about 10 seconds). You can override this by picking up the phone line and disconnecting again. All in All, this has been a great unit and has served our family well for three years now.
