Pros: Progressive scan. Don't know if it makes a difference but I like this player.
Cons: Takes a short while learning the lay-out of the remote control.
The Bottom Line: Great machine for the price. Spend more if you must, but why?

I don't have any other dvd players to compare this one to, but this machine offers a great picture at a great price. Bought it online at etronics. Quick shipping. Around $200.00 U.S. with shipping.
I suppose there are fancier machines with better sound, but I have this player hooked up to a new Sony 27-inch WEGA TV and Sony surround sound system and am very pleased. This system won't make you forget what it's like to go to a movie theater but who's house have you ever watched a movie in and thought it was as good as the worst movie theater you've even been in?
The biggest drawback with DVDs is replacing all those movies on video tape. Best way to off set the expense is by selling your duplicates on Amazon or Ebay.
