The phone itself works fine. The sound clarity is good. I like the fact that there is a mute/unmute button on the handset (I use this when I am listening to a teleconference for work). The speaker phone is clear but not super loud. The phone stands up by itself, which is nice when you are using the speakerphone and just want the handset to sit on the table.

We are just disappointed in some of the features (or lack thereof). There is no backlighting on the handset displays, which is a little bit obnoxious at night. Also, the status light on the phone is very bright, so bright that the phone in our bedroom has become a nightlight. But our biggest gripe is that you can't just do call screening at the base unit. You either get call screening on all of the handsets or you get no call screening at all. The last thing we want to hear is whatever message someone is leaving while we are trying to sleep! But we like having the ability to do call screening during the day because sometimes we just can’t get to the quickly enough before the answering machine kicks in. At least call screening lets us hear who just called and how urgent their call is. Also, the answering machine only verbally tells you how many messages you have. I like to have a number flashing at me to give me that information.
We are returning this phone to the store and will get a phone and answering machine system that allows call screening at the base only.
