| justinbw's Full Review: Panasonic KX-TG2214 2.4 GHz 1-Line Cordless Phone |
* Excellent Telephone! I have had a couple cordless phones in the past and this is by far the best. It has an excellent design that holds nicely in may hand and fits comfortably against my ear. It comes with a removable clip, for clipping it to your pants or belt. A removable shoulder rest is also included, that allows the phone to rest on your shoulder, so you are able to talk without holding on to the phone and without bending your neck all the way over. The phone is a 2.4GHz digital cordless phone. The 2.4GHz provides excellent range. It has such good range that you could be at a friends house, a couple houses down the street, and not miss your important phone calls. The phone comes with a Ni-MH battery, excellent battery, which will last for up to 5 hours of talk time or 11 days of standby.
* The lighted key pad lighted LCD display is great for operation in the dark and finding the phone at night. When the phone rings the display and key pad lights up so you can easily find the phone in the dark and see who is calling, without having to turn on a light. They also light up when you turn the phone on, so you can see the numbers in the dark. Both the LCD and the keypad are green in color when lit.
* The phone book can store up to 50 names and phone numbers. It is very easy to add a new entry to the phone book, edit entries and view existing entries. To find a phone number without scrolling through the entire list all you do is push the number that has the same letter as the first letter in the name you are trying to find. When you find the correct name and number just push the talk button and it dials.
* The redial button is not like most phones, where you push the redial button and it calls the last number you dialed. When you push redial it display the last 10 numbers you called and all you do is scroll to the correct one, with the easy up and down arrows, and then push talk. You are able to clear certain numbers form the list, so others wont know who you have been calling.
* The name and number display can store up to 30 different names and numbers. When the phone rings it will display both the name and number on the screen. If the same person calls more than one time it will not use up extra space to sore that name and number more than once, instead it will only display the last time the person called and beside the name it will show the number of times the person called. To call a person back, all you have to do is scroll to their name and number in the call display and push talk.
* The Panasonic cordless phone has many excellent features and many features that you can customize. You can choose from 5 different ring tones, set the ringer volume, and the speaker volume. On the back of the headset is a built in speaker phone so you can take the phone anywhere and just set it down and continue on talking. You have the ability to choose if you want the phone to turn on as soon as you pick it up, while it is ringing, or if you want to have to push the talk button to answer after picking it up. The hold button allows you to push the hold button and either pick the phone back up and push talk to continue talking or you can push hold and then pick up another phone in your house and the Panasonic cordless phone will automatically turn itself off. The phone has a built-in headset jack which allows you to purchase the optional head-set and be able to clip the phone to your belt and talk using the headset. That is a nice option to have but it really isnt necessary with the shoulder rest and the built-in speaker phone. On the base unit there is a head-set locator button, which will make the phone beep until you locate it. There are many other good features like a red light for voice mail, if you are subscribed to voice mail services, and a mute button, so you can talk to someone in your house with out the person on the other end hearing.
* The sound quality of this cordless phone is crystal clear and very sharp. It has Voice Enhancer Technology, which makes the person you are talking to sound like they were in the same room. This is not like some cordless phones where the person on the other end has a very hollow sounding voice.
* Overall I highly recommend this phone. This is by far one of the best 2.4Ghz Digital phones with caller-id on the market. This phone fits very nice in your hand, has great features, and the quality is excellent. This phone can also be found in a dark navy color, which is also very nice, if you don't like white. Panasonic makes great products and this phone is no exception! Excellent purchase!
