my old motorola 4 handset system bought in jan 2005 can not compare with clarity. I was complaining that my daughter's phone out-of- state was cutting in and out and unable to hear her because of what sounded like slurring words and stuttering. Well she kept upgrading her phones and we were on a digital warner network and i was complaining to them because of static on phone and cutting out. Well after buying new dec 6.00 phones line became crystal clear. I can hear everything she said. It seemed to enhance my hearing which isn't the best over many years. Boy, if they can make hearing aids like this phone, I'll get it. We got the 4 handset one. All are loud and clear. No interference from kitchen, wi-fi, computers, tv's, etc. Also you can turn off answer machine from handset. Battery lasts long. And they each take 2 AAA rechargeble ones. It does not have a screen on base but you can dial out and receive calls on this model. You can put night mode on on handsets and have them not ring at night or anyplace you do not want a ring while a sleep. Best feature is block callers list. When you get a call from telmarketer just let it go into voice mail or answering machine and from caller ID list you save that number in block call list. From than on that call will be blocked. Other terrific features also that do not use battery life. Brightness can be adjusted. Sounds can be reduced and shut off from each handset.
