steveparis's Full Review: Panasonic KX-TGA270S 2.4 GHz 2-Line Cordless Expan...
The battery life is ridiculously short. The phone worked OK when I got it - never anywhere close to the talk time advertised on the box. Within 6 months or so, the battery life is to the point where a 20 minute phone call is nearly impossible from a fully charged phone. Many times, you don't even get a warning beep - it just turns off! I bought the base system KX-TG2730 and three extra handsets. All of them suffer from this problem. This was not a cheap phone setup. I called Panasonic support on 18 October expecting maybe a "where sorry Mr. xxx, we know about the problem and are ready to fix. We'll send replacements out...." Nope. No way. Instead I get "press and hold the 2, 5, 8, and 0 key at the same time (until it beeps), remove battery, press each key, reinsert battery, charge for 15 hours..." By the way, this is the reset procedure for the phone if you are having this problem as well. I will edit this post if this works. If this doesn't work, I have to pack up the phone and ship to the Panasonic service center at my expense. The turn around time for repair is an abysmal 4 weeks. I used to be a big fan of Panasonic products....hmmmm...I guess I still am. I've purchased enough good Panasonic to cut them some slack, but I am disappointed with this product and the repair service time. They offer an advanced replacement program (which is almost a requirement if I am going to repeat buy from a company), but unfortunately, Panasonic will ship a refurbished product with a paltry 90 day warranty. Why should I accept 90 days when my product has about 150 days of the original warranty remaining?
