parkshore's Full Review: Panasonic Lumix® DMC-FZ30 Digital Camera
Having owned the FZ-30 for over a year now I feel fairly well qualified to give an informed opinion. First, I'll admit it can be noisy. Pictures taken in available light are noisy but, with flash, they become acceptable. Same goes for the high ISO noise ...., if you shoot primarily sports action at ISO 400, don't buy this camera. I shoot everything at ISO 80 and have no noise problems. The viewfinder is not the sharpest but I let the autofocus do it's thing and mainly use it for composition. Works fine.
The Optical Image Stabilization is worth it's weight in gold. I can shoot, hand held, at 400mm (ISO 80) and I get 98% of the shots tack sharp. I shoot RAW images with no problem. Some cameras at twice the price, can't.
Bottom line ..., one fine little camera for the price.
