Sound Quility (Reply to this comment)

Am I the only person who is dissapointed with the sound quility on this player? Of course, I am comparing it to my X-Fi, but I am using a pair of Ultrasone HFI-550's, and it sounds muddy.

Hi Mike,

Right now, not only is "the land of the ice and snow" part of a Zepplin lyric, but it is also very accurate when I look outside.

Thanks for the comment,

I was actually in the market very recently but settled on an iPod.

Your review is excellent, though, and makes me wish I'd have at least picked it up before shelling out iPod $$$.

~ Mike

PS: Nice choice of a Zep lyric for your location! ;) Just wanted to you to know it hadn't gone unappreciated!

I'm so old school; I don't own one thing with the title MP3 in it. I'll have to keep my eyes open; I'm in need of a new player.

...wonder how some people claim that 128kbps or 192kbps MP3 sounds as good as the original CD. The difference is obvious even with semi-decent speakers or headphones.
Great review,

I was referring more to a dark horse status as a MP3 player, especially with the iPod stomping the rest of the competition right now. I was actually able to use an AC adapter from an old Sony CD player that I had, and it worked fine. Thanks for the offer though.

Nice review.

I really wish that Panasonic would have included the AC adapter with the package.

I got 50 or so old adapters you're free to look though.....I think they are multiplying

Not sure Panasonic is a dark horse when it comes to portable cd players, they're consisently rated among the best by CR and other sources.
