Pros: Excellent Image rendering. Very fast winding. Superb Universal Remote.
Cons: No backlit remote.
Does not display DVD elapsed time on unit.
The Bottom Line: IF you ever plan on owning or own a tv with component input (the progressive scan feature is really a sight to behold), don't look anywhere else

| smoothdrrod's Full Review: Panasonic PV-D4752 DVD Player / VCR Combo |
I purchased this unit as an employee at my retail store. Why did I buy it? Well, the price i paid was 50 dollars more than the price of a Progressive scan DVD player. So I opted for the combination. The quality is excellent and its useful to use the unit to see the imaging difference between coax, composite, and component video outputs. I really like the ultra fast cassette winding. This unit has a feature I have seen disappear on panasonic... dual speed search mode while the VHS tape is playing. I have to say basic cable TV tuning is lack luster... but who the hell has only basic cable and considers something like this? (I myself am using Directv, I just have split the cable from my cable internet and input it to my tv for kicks)
I believe this unit was a steal at the 200 Usd, and at 300 USD, it is the strongest of buys. You can't beat the combination of an excellent VCR coupled with a progressive scan, excellent quality Dvd Playback unit. The universal remote also controls my Sony TV and DirecTV units with nary a problem, in fact I prefer it.
