| Economist33's Full Review: Panasonic PV-DV201 Mini DV Camcorder |
To sum it up in one word, this camera is average for mainly one reason: SIZE. Although this camera performs its functions excellently, it is a bit larger than the newer digital camcorders that are out on the market today.
However, functionally, this camera is superb. It has both optical zoom and digital zoom, it can take still shots (which then can later be transferred to your computer via a USB cord), and isn't too heavy. It doesn't weight me down as I carry it on vacation.
Also, I recommend getting a larger battery because the one provided with it lasts only a short amount of time before a new charge. This camera comes with all the necessary cords and software to transfer the still shots to your computer. One thing I found out is that firewire is needed to transfer the video onto the computer. So if you want to edit your video on the computer, keep this in mind. All in all, this is a good digital camcorder for someone who isn't a hardcore filmer! I would recommend this digital camcorder to those who want something that is easy to use, delivers high quality results, and does not want to spend an arm and a leg to get it.
